YELLOW MOOR is a rock band founded in 2009 in Milan by the artistic partnership between Andrea Viti (musician on the Italian scene already with Karma, Afterhours, Dorian Gray, Luca Gemma, Alice and numerous other Italian and international artists)

and Sy Alfei (Visual artist, performer, songwriter). To complete the band there are four musicians from the Verona scene: Francesco and Guglielmo Cappiotti, Simone Marchioretti and Philip Romano. On March 21st 2014 their first self-titled album is released on Prismopaco Records . The sound of Yellow Moor starts from a certain "old style" American and then goes between folk and a more aggressive alternative-rock, letting itself be well influenced by artists such as Mark Lanegan, Nick Cave, Neil Young.

Yellow Moor's first single, “Castle burned” directed by Francesco Collinelli, comes with an exclusive official video on Mucchio Selvaggio. The video of the second single

"Across this night" entrusted again to the direction of Francesco Collinelli, comes out exclusively on Rockerilla.

The disc receives very good feedback from the "insiders" and numerous excellent reviews. After the showcase at 75beat and a first official live at the Ohibò in Milan, Yellow Moor moved their first dates in Lombardy and Veneto.

The record "Yellow Moor" (yellow moor) is inspired by the "place" where Andrea and Silvia conceived, composed and wrote the ten tracks of this work. In the space of three years between the city and the open spaces of the Ticino lands, the ideas and texts for the creation of the pieces are born. In 2013, with a solid pre-production, they entered the Studi Sotto il Mare in Verona for the recordings of five live songs on tape where a solid “Wall of Sound” was needed, making use of the precious collaboration of the sound engineer Luca Tacconi. The remaining pieces were created and mixed in their venue, the Yellow Moor Recording Studio. For the mastering the disc flew to the United States, entrusted to the studio of Carl Saff.

The cover and the graphics are entrusted to the illustrator Alberto Corradi.

"There is a desert inside each of us, a place visible only with closed eyes, which comes to life every time the music crosses it to reach the door of our consciousness. It is precisely from there that the Yellow Moor songs come from, notes of everyday life snatched from the silence of feelings or the dull noise of indifference. This new project by Andrea Viti, one of the most prestigious Italian musicians - former bassist of Afterhours, Karma and Dorian Gray - stems from the need to regain possession of an infinity of suggestions that arise from the blues and certainly new American folk, to shape a sound world in which Nick Cave, Howe Gelb, Jack White coexist, filtering everything with an absolutely original sensitivity, unique in its kind. Yellow Moor's debut album, written and sung by Viti together with Silvia Alfei, voice of the moon and other half of the "Landa Gialla", are the scenario from which stories of ordinary madness emerge such as "They Have Come ", a ruthless account of a family drama or ballads illuminated by the glittering twilight of dreams, of which" Across this night "and" Out of the City "are brilliant examples. Yellow Moor's is an exciting journey, through masterless emotions, free like music that reaches straight to the heart. Two souls, six musicians and a handful of wonderful songs. The new Italian rock starts again from here " .
